Oh How Time Flies

One year.  He's one year old today.

I shed some tears rocking him and then putting him to sleep last night.  And today I will think about what I was doing each hour one year ago today.  I swear I only blinked, and yet, labor and delivery also feel like another lifetime.

To celebrate, he will be smothered with 365 hugs and kisses today.

Still At It

If you look back at the last post before my more than brief hiatus, I posted a picture from the day I enrolled at a local university to start working toward my undergraduate degree.  And you know what?  Still working.  I've told several people recently how much I feel like the tortoise in the race.  I opted to work full time right out of high school and since I've gone back to school, it's been only part time.  The pros are that I never have 5 papers due at once, or have a bunch of exams on the same day, I get to still spend most of my time with my boys and don't have to pay for full time childcare.  The con is that it takes flippin forever!  To those parents who go to school full time, geesh!  You are all superheroes in my book.  My goal is just to have my bachelors by the time I'm 30 (fingers crossed).

Photo Dump

If you're anything like me, a post isn't worth reading unless there's a picture or two to go along with it.  I assumed it's our voyeuristic nature, at least that's what I'm going to choose to believe.  But that's beside the point.  The point is, this is one giant post full of pictures to summarize the last year and a half, or at least attempt to.

And now I'm pretty sure you won't even need to get on Facebook or Instagram for the rest of today.  You daily quota of looking at photos has been met.  Your welcome.

Internet, Meet Ezra

It's time I introduce you all to Ezra, my daring, always on the go, very independent, almost 1 year old.  We found out he was coming summer 2013, and he made his entrance two days before his due date in February.

From day one, Baxter and Atticus were enamored with him.  I thought the novelty of having a little brother would wear off, but it has yet to do so.  They're still pretty stoked about him, although less so when he's trying to smash the current tower masterpiece they're building.

Now that he's almost one and always on the move, life is getting a whole lot crazier, our house is getting to be a whole lot harder to keep clean and I may or may not get to shower on a regular basis.  It looks like dry shampoo is going to be my new bff and all of my instagram photos will just be a blur of boys in motion (long gone are the days of photos of a cute sleeping baby).

The Return

It's been such a long time since I've last hit the publish button here, and a lot has happened between then and now.  Life got crazy, as it oftentimes does, and posting here fell far down the priority list.  And even though there were times in the last year and a half that I felt the urge to share, it was such a non-habit that it almost seemed futile.

Apparently it seemed a little less futile at this moment and the urge to write has taken over; so here we are.  But where to start?  An enormous amount has happened and it seems quite overwhelming to try and fit it all here in a few paragraphs.

But to summarize:  Baxter and Atticus are now 4 1/2 yrs old, in preschool and are now small men.  In July 2013 I found out I was pregnant and now have a home-grown son who's almost 1 yr old.  His name is Ezra.  I am still a part time student at a local university.  I am still at home with my kids most days and my husband is busy with his film production company.  On most days, my life consists of going to the gym, either going to school or doing homework, attempting to clean some portion of my house, making lots of meals (both regular and ones that involve baby food), doing at least a load of laundry, overseeing either ballet or violin practice, changing multiple diapers, trying to spend even a short amount of time communicating with my husband (most often during breaks in the wrestling match taking place in our living room) and making an effort at a social life.  I think if I had to create a title for what I do, or what most stay-at-home moms do, it would be "curator of a household," which I feel is pretty fitting and accurately depicts how I spend most of my time.

Hi, my name is Teresa.  I'm a curator of a household. It's nice to re-meet you.
