One Fine Tree: Weekend Wears

This weekend, I celebrated my birthday two out of the three days, which was fun, although the only downside was that Eric was out of town all weekend. That's just how it goes sometimes for us. Eric's job takes him away occasionally, but as the saying goes, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Because Eric was gone, it was just me and the kiddos most of the time. This limited what I did this weekend to family visits and errands. Wait, I take that back, I spent loads of time with my bestie, who just happens to live below me, once the boys were tucked in on Friday night. Her husband works some evenings and it just happened that he was scheduled late on Friday, which gave us the opportunity to hang out.

On Saturday, it rained all morning so we were forced to stay indoors and then headed over to my parents that afternoon, where we spent the rest of the day. The rain eventually stopped, but it didn't warm up enough for the boys to swim. I don't know who was more upset, the boys or my mom, who loves taking them swimming.

Sunday began will more rain, which called for some Baby Einstein videos to help pass the time. Then it was off to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's (Eric's parents) where we had birthday celebration #2. Eric met us there, and the boys really couldn't have been more excited to see him. Sunday night was pretty low-key. Eric was pretty tired from working all weekend, and I wasn't going to pass up a night just the two of us.
